📣 Game Day Guidelines for Mustangs! 📣 As we gear up for our upcoming events, we want to ensure everyone has a great experience. Here are some key points regarding parent supervision and student entrance: ✅ Adult Supervision Required: Students in 8th grade and younger must enter with an adult. ✅ Stay Seated: All students 8th grade and younger should remain seated and supervised by an adult at all times, including in concession stand areas. ✅ No Loitering: Please avoid loitering in grass areas or around the concession stand. It’s important to maintain clear pathways, so let’s make sure everyone has a view of the game and can enjoy the action! ✅ Respect the Venue: Please help us keep our facilities clean. Dispose of trash properly and encourage others to do the same. ✅ Show Good Sportsmanship: Let’s promote a positive atmosphere! Cheer for our team and respect all players, coaches, and fans. ✅ Behavior Expectations: Let’s all aim to be respectful and positive! If students are unable to follow these guidelines, we may need to ask them to leave the game. Please be aware that there will be consequences for failing to follow the rules. Remember, we’re all here to support our Mustangs! We expect everyone to stay seated, watch the game, and cheer them on to victory! Thanks for your cooperation! Prosser School District was recently made aware of allegations of criminal misconduct against a temporary part-time employee resulting in charges being filed by the Benton County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. The safety and security of our students is of paramount importance to the District. To that end, the District took immediate action, and the temporary part-time employee was released. As this is an open criminal investigation, any further questions related to this matter should be directed to the Benton County Sheriff’s Department and ask for Case Agent Tara Marks 509-735-6555 x 3867 or Detective Horacio Gonzalez at 509-735-6555 x 7205. Join us Friday, October 4th at 7:00 PM for the Prosser High School Homecoming football game! 🎉 Stick around afterward for a spectacular fireworks show, hosted by the Prosser Booster Club, that you won't want to miss! 🎆 Important Notice: To ensure everyone's safety, we will be roping off the grassy area from the softball field up to the tree by the parking lot. The pyrotechnic crew needs a safety area, and we will be taping it off to help keep this space clear. 🌟 October is Disability History Month! 🌟 This month, we celebrate and raise awareness about the contributions and identities of the approximately 40.7 million Americans with disabilities. It’s a time to honor their rich experiences, recognizing that disability is just one aspect of a person's life, not their sole defining feature. In Prosser School District, we proudly serve 353 students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), along with many others who have 504 plans or don't require specific services. Let’s remember that they are all Prosser students first, united in their hopes, dreams, and aspirations. Together, let’s continue fostering an inclusive environment where every student is respected and empowered. 💙

Meet Evann Swearingen, our Life Skills Teacher (1-year position) at Keene Riverview Elementary School! 🐝 Originally from Grandview, Evann is currently attending Western Washington University, where she is pursuing her degree in Elementary Education. 📚 In her free time, she enjoys watching her daughter play sports, coaching volleyball, and perfecting her cake decorating skills 🎂🏐. As a new teacher in the Prosser School District, Evann has an important message for her students: “Be unapologetically you. Mistakes are proof that you are trying.” We’re thrilled to welcome Evann to the Prosser School District family and can’t wait for a fantastic year ahead filled with learning and growth! 🐝 🏫

Meet Carmen Vargas, our new 2nd Grade Teacher at Whitstran Elementary! 🦁 Originally from Yakima, WA, Carmen has an educational background in Elementary Education. In her free time, she loves reading 📚, hiking ⛰️, and spending quality moments with her family. Carmen was inspired to become a teacher by the amazing role models she had in her own life—her teachers. She says, “Each teacher instilled something in me and changed my life for the better. I truly hope I can do the same for my students.” As she embarks on this journey in the Prosser School District, Carmen wants her future students to know: “I believe in incorporating diverse and engaging lessons that strive for student success. I encourage movement, hands-on work, and multiple opportunities to learn. Mistakes are proof of learning, and I aim to create a positive and safe environment where everyone can grow. We are all lifelong learners!” ✨ Carmen is super excited for this school year and can’t wait for the amazing adventures that lie ahead! Let’s give her a warm welcome! 🦁

We are excited to introduce Genevva Kitchen, our new Resource Room ELA teacher at Housel Middle School! 🎉 Genevva holds an AA from Green River Community College and a Bachelor's in Elementary Education with a minor in Literacy from Central Washington University. She is currently pursuing her Master of Education in Special Education at Eastern Washington University. 📚✨ In her free time, Genevva loves spending time with her family and friends, reading, playing board games, and going camping. 🏕️🎲 What drew her to Prosser? Genevva is thrilled to be part of such a warm and welcoming community and is excited to work alongside a wonderful group of people. 💖 As she steps into her role, Genevva wants to share this message with her future students: "I am so excited to get to work with each and every one of you and to be a part of your education journey. We are thrilled to introduce Debra (Debbie) Johnson as our new District Librarian! A long-time resident of Prosser, Debbie has deep roots in our community, having raised her three daughters—Kara, Marissa, and Hannah—here since 1990. ❤️ With an Associate of Arts in Teacher Education and a Bachelor's in Elementary Education from Western Governors University, Debbie is currently pursuing her Library Media Endorsement. 🎓 Her passion for education and reading is evident! In her free time, Debbie loves spending time with family and friends, traveling to new places 🌍, attending concerts 🎶, and, of course, curling up with a good book. 📖 She believes that reading opens doors to new worlds, and she encourages students to find books that spark their interest. Debbie is excited to work in the libraries of Prosser, where her daughters graduated and where her granddaughters currently attend school. We are thrilled to welcome Kooper Blair as our new STEM/Robotics teacher at Housel Middle School! As a proud alumni of Prosser High School, Kooper brings a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to our community. 🐴 Kooper holds a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Western Governors University and is currently pursuing his Master's in Secondary Education at Grand Canyon University. 📚 His dedication to learning and teaching is truly inspiring! Outside of the classroom, you can find him cheering for the Mariners ⚾, watching sports 📺, or taking his dogs for a walk 🐾. He’s also a dedicated coach for the high school baseball team, showcasing his passion for mentorship and teamwork! Kooper began his journey in education through coaching and quickly realized that teaching was his true calling.
