Crystal Apple Award For Excellence in Education

November 8, 2021

Dear Prosser Community,
We are excited to announce that we are taking nominations for the 2022 Crystal Apple Award for Excellence in Education and we would like to invite students, parents and the Prosser community to nominate a Prosser School District teacher who made a positive impact on your life or the life of your child.  The nomination is open for current PSD teachers.
The Crystal Apple Award is celebrating its 24th year and was initiated in 1999 by Dr. John Umbarger, the program was established to honor the education profession as a whole by identifying a few of the many individuals who have a positive impact on the lives and futures of their students.  This award program has now recognized 251 teachers and is sponsored by community service groups, local businesses, and individuals who want to recognize and show their appreciation for the thousands of outstanding teachers in area public schools.  The school districts that participate in the Crystal Apple Award are:  Columbia (Burbank), Finely, Kennewick, Kiona-Benton, North Franklin, Othello, Pasco, Prosser and Richland.  Each school nominates one teacher or teacher team and then the one teacher or teacher team is selected from the group.
The Prosser Crystal Apple Nomination form is attached here and has additional information.  If you would like to nominate a deserving teacher (who is currently employed by the PSD), please complete the attached form and return it to the PSD Curriculum Office no later than 3:00pm on Monday, December 6, 2021.
