Students grouped together.

On Friday, Housel Middle School concluded our celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month by holding an assembly to recognize different aspects of the Hispanic culture. HMS ASB Officers kicked off the assembly by sharing information about what Hispanic Heritage Month is and why we celebrate our diversity. We then welcomed special guests from Pasco who performed two dances, Mr. Maya and his band from PHS who played for everyone, and Mr. Larez who spoke about what his heritage means to him.  Finally, several students who gave up their lunch/recess time for the week performed a traditional dance for their peers, complete with costumes donated by local community members! A special thank you to Mrs. Bryan and Mr. Munoz for organizing this event for our school, and to all those who volunteered their time to make our first Hispanic Heritage Month assembly one that we will not forget!
