On Wednesday, March 16th the HMS Art Team traveled to East Valley for the Yakima Valley Middle School Art Competition.
Teams from valley schools were given a theme and 15 minutes to collaborate. Then with the materials they brought, had an hour & 30 min to create a piece of art on a 4’x4’ canvas showing their interpretation of that theme. In addition to this, each student (two from 6th, 7th & 8th grades) submitted an individual piece of art.
HMS came home with awards for Group - Best Use of Texture, Group - Best Use of Value, 1st Place Individual 8th grade to Avery M., and 1st Place Individual 6th grade to Wendy A.!
