Students in Front of Sign

Housel Middle School's 7th and 8th grade AVID and AVID Excel students visited Eastern Washington University today and were able to enjoy a variety of activities. Students started with a campus tour, which included a walk through the new science building, the recreation center, the library, and the PUB (student union building). They were able to ask questions during the tour and were given lots of information about the university. Next up was a student panel, where HMS students asked questions of current EWU students about life as an Eagle. Students then ate lunch on campus and took some time to explore the bookstore. Before loading up the bus for the trip home, students were able to head to Roos Field for a group picture on the red turf! Overall, students had a fantastic day, and it will be one they won't soon forget. A special "Thank You" to our chaperones Mr. Appelgate (AVID 7 and 8 teacher), Mr. Munoz (AVID Excel teacher), and Mrs. Rodriguez (Instructional Coach and AVID Site Coordinator) for making this trip possible!
