Dear HMS Students and Families:
Welcome to the 2023-24 school year! We are excited to get the new school year started and we are looking forward to the first day of school on Tuesday, August 29th. Custodian and maintenance staff have been busy preparing the building and grounds for the new school year. Staff have been working throughout the summer to create a rigorous, engaging, and supportive learning environment for our students. We are looking forward to an amazing school year.
Here are some important dates to know:
August 1: Skyward is open for new and returning student registration.
August 15: HMS Office back open daily from 8:00am to 4:00pm. (786-1732)
August 23: Schedules available to families in Skyward.
August 24: New Student Orientation – 6:00-7:00pm HMS North Gym – Open to all 6th grade and any newly enrolled students.
Aug 23/24/25: The school will be open from 9:00-11:30 and 1:00-3:00 for families to pick up student schedules and walk through the building. (Schedules will also be available in Skyward). Staff will be in professional development classes during the day and may not be available at this time.
August 28: Back to School Night – 5:30-6:30pm – HMS. Schedules will be available, and the school will be open to all students to meet teachers and walk through the building.
August 29: First Day of School! School doors will open at 7:40am, class begins at 8:00am.
September 1: School Picture Day – packets will be provided to families earlier in the week.
September 4: Labor Day – No School
